Last week, Meagan Good’s husband, DeVon Franklin, shared advice with his followers urging them to treat dating differently than marriage until rings are exchanged.

Franklin uploaded a photograph on Thursday of an engagement ring and two wedding bands that reads, “There’s a time to act like husband and wife, but if doesn’t come until you’re actually married—until you have that indelible commitment to each other.”

Franklin captioned the post, “Acting married when you’re not can set you up for heartbreak,” along with a link to The New York Times bestseller, The Wait, a book in which he and Good share their courtship and the idea that waiting to have sex is key in finding the right spouse.

The award-winning film and TV producer and pastor married the actress in 2012. Since then, the couple has been advising others about pursuing healthy relationships and the benefit of keeping God first in their marriages.
