Famed director, John Singleton, sees nothing wrong with how R. Kelly is living his life.

Last week, the R&B genius became wrapped up in scandal after the parents of three women accused him of keeping their daughters in a “sex cult.”

But Singleton argues the women are all grown and are making adult decisions.

During an interview with TMZ, the Boyz in the Hood director told the media outlet that he doesn’t understand why people are up in arms about the “Step In The Name of Love” musician.

“He’s not misunderstood. He has a bunch of girlfriends. A lot of people have a bunch of girlfriends,” Singleton said. “The women that he’s with are adult women and they made the decision to be with him and know what they are getting into so I don’t see what the controversy is and what it’s about.”

Singleton also said that he doesn’t think R. Kelly should be compared to Bill Cosby.

“No, not at all. That’s a whole different situation.”
