Much of Keyshia Cole’s work as an artist tackles the many ups and downs of love. After her marriage to former NBA player Daniel “Boobie” Gibson fell apart in 2014, the singer once again channeled her energy into her music.
Four years later, the pair continues to co-parent son, Daniel Jr., while searching for love again. On a recent episode of The Steve Harvey Show, Cole revealed what her new man, whoever he turns out to be, must have if he wants a chance with her.
“I feel like the thing that was lacking in the relationship that has to be strong is a strong foundation in Christ,” she said, according to MadameNoire. “First! And on top of that, to be focused and attentive to the relationship, because if you’re looking for things outside of what you already have then it’s not … yeah … nah.”
“Well, all that’s coming,” Harvey replied.
“Hopefully,” Cole responded.
“Ain’t no hopefully,” the host added. “It’s going to happen for you. It’s going to happen.”
