Spaces and places inform Tanzanian architect, David Adjaye’s, works.
Defined by intricate detail and heights, Adjaye’s vision is behind the design of the new Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C.
The artist’s’ upcoming exhibit, Making Place: The Architecture of David Adjaye will explore the distinctive approach to his design along with its influential aesthetic. Debuting at The Art Institute of Chicago on September 19 and running through January 3, 2016, “Making Place,” will demonstrate Adjaye’s “transformation of complex ideas into approachable and innovative structures.”
In addition, the exhibit will further nurture curiosity with its response to local and global systems of culture, economics and technology.
