Although we're aware it occurs and recognize how harmful it can be, male on male rape is still considered by many to be (at best) a subject that doesn't warrant much discussion and (at worst) an easy punchline for a joke about prison. But, between the fact that more and more academics are crafting their studies around this issue and the increasing number of men who've been brave enough to publicly come out and report that they've been raped, perhaps the tabooization of this subject will diminish.

Will male-on-male rape ever be thought of with the same animus and disgust as male-on-female rape is? And how do we add female-on-male rape (yes, it's possible) to the conversation?
