No one really likes narcissistic people, so we can just about imagine how draining it is to be involved with one, let alone married.

And according to author Catenya McHenry, relationships with narcissists are not only exhausting, they are also psychologically and emotionally crippling.

In her new book, Married to a Narcissist: Enduring the Struggle and Finding You Again, McHenry details fighting her way through the marriage by “journaling the raw and painful experience chapter by chapter.”

“It is so difficult to know what to do in a complicated and unhappy marriage,” says author Rod McCall in a press release sent to EBONY. “This book gives life-tested direction and solutions which can guide someone safely through the minefield of a narcissistic relationship to the other side.”

Initially, McHenry imagined the pages just being a place to channel her pain. She had no idea her work would evolve to a book, but that’s exactly what happened.

“If you feel abused, alone, overshadowed, beat down and sometimes outside of yourself because of a narcissist partner, this book will help you distance yourself from the abuse, give you hope, and help you love yourself and  find yourself again,” the press release states.
