Mary J. Blige To Premiere 'My Life' Documentary This Month On Prime Video

Just in time for Black Music Month, Amazon's Prime Video will debut My Life, a documentary that will explore the life and times of the Queen of Hip Hop Soul, Mary J. Blige. The film, which is directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Vanessa Roth and executive produced by Qunicy Jones, is slated for release on June 25. Click here to watch the trailer.

Wilberforce University Cancels Student Loan Debt For Class Of 2021

Wilberforce University gave graduates the send-off of all send-offs Saturday when University President Alfred Anthony Pinkard announced that the HBCU would be canceling more than $375,000 in student loan debt at the 2021 commencement ceremony. “As these graduates begin their lives as responsible adults, we are honored to be able to give them a fresh start by relieving their student debt to the university," Pinkard expressed in a statement.

Homophobia Suspected In Murder-Suicide Of Connecticut Family

A shooting that took place inside of a Connecticut home, which left three dead and one wounded is suspected to be the cause of homophobia. According to the Hartford Courant, police say that David Wisdom shot his wife Delores Wisdom, his unnamed stepdaughter, and stepdaughter's girlfriend, Lauren Leslie, before turning the gun on himself. Wisdom, his wife, and Leslie succumbed to their injuries. The stepdaughter survived but has been hospitalized. She is said to be in critical but stable condition.

Tiffany Haddish Shares Where She Is In The Adoption Process

After previously sharing her plans to adopt a child, Tiffany Haddish offered an update regarding where she is in the adoption process. The comedienne told Entertainment Tonight that while she previously had plans to become a foster parent, her attorney advised her to adopt instead. "First of all, especially after this pandemic, there are so many children left without their parents. There are a lot of people that need to be loved. It's Foster Care Awareness Month right now, and I think we all should be aware and try to do what we can," said Haddish. "I really wanted to be a foster parent, but because I'm at a certain level of success, my lawyer suggested that it's probably best to just adopt, and I'm on that process now." She also reiterated previous plans to adopt a child who is 5 or older.

DreamDoll Comes Out During Pride Month

Tuesday, rapper DreamDoll kicked off Pride Month by coming out to fans and followers as a bisexual woman on Instagram. "Happy Pride Month," wrote the "Pull Up" rapper, whose birth name is Tabatha Robinson. "I’m proud to announce that [I'm] Bisexual." Since sharing her sexuality with the world, Robinson says that she has received an outpouring of support from fans.
