Whether you love her acting skills or curse the day she was cast in "Cousin Skeeter," Meagan Good has finally landed a role that signals a major turning point in her career. Coming off of her large role in Showtime's predominantly white show "Californication" and her spot in the upcoming film "Think Like A Man," Good will be headlining the NBC pilot "Notorious" — an "opulent soap" in which she portrays Detective Joanna Locasto.
Her character will apparently be undercover as a housemaid's daughter, which gives us a bit of a pause. But, other than that little tidbit, this seems like a really great opportunity. In addition to Good's role in "Notorious," other Black actors and actresses such as Kerry Washington, Andre Braugher and Cuba Gooding Jr. have recently been cast as headliners to upcoming primetime series. Here's hoping that they bring it with the talent in each of their parts and their shows don't get canceled.
