Melanie “Mel B” Brown has been granted a five-year restraining order against the nanny who she says had an affair with her estranged husband, Stephen Belafonte, People reports.
The 41-year-old entertainer initially requested a temporary restraining order against Lorraine Gilles on April 11. The order is said to have an effective duration of five years.
Initially, a judge ordered Gilles to stay at least 100 yards away from Brown. She was also ordered not to remove any property from a storage locker that the Spice Girls singer claimed was under Gilles’ name.
Brown says the unit contains sex tapes of the singer, as well as photos of Gilles and Belafonte. She also claims that Spice Girls memorabilia and photos of her recently deceased father are housed in the locker.
Brown also filed a restraining order against Belafonte. A Los Angeles judge ruled that it would remain in place until the end of their divorce hearing following allegations that he beat, threatened and exploited his estranged wife during their marriage.
However, Belafonte was granted joint custody of the couple’s 5-year-old daughter, Madison, which he was granted. Earlier this month Gilles filed a lawsuit against Brown, claiming she carried on a seven-year sexual relationship with Brown. She is suing her for defamation connected to claims made by the singer that Gilles had a long-term affair with Belafonte and once got pregnant by him.
Previously, Gilles reported confirmed she had an abortion, but says she got pregnant via a one-not stand, something she told Brown about in confidence.
Brown accused Belafonte of continuously abusing her and threatening to ruin her career by releasing sex tapes.
