Meshach Taylor, best known for his roles in Mannequin and Designing Women, died late Saturday at his Los Angeles-area home following a long bout with cancer.

Taylor appeared as over-the-top window designer, Hollywood Montrose in the 1987 cult classic Mannequin and later garnered an Emmy nomination for his role as Anthony Bouvier, an assistant at the Sugarbaker design firm on the classic 1980's comedy Designing Women. He also appeared on shows such as Alf, Hannah Montana, The Drew Carey Show and Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide.

The 67-year-old was reportedly surrounded by family at the time of his transition.
