While getting in character for his role in the much anticipated 2018 release of Marvel’s Black Panther, Michael B. Jordan scored a lead in HBO’s Fahrenheit 451.

The film is an adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s 1953 sci-fi book of the same name, which centers on a future where media is an opiate, history is outlawed and “firemen” burn books,” Deadline reports.  Jordan stars alongside Michael Shannon as  Montag, a young fireman who abandons his world, battles his mentor and struggles to find his way back to humanity.

In addition to being cast as a lead, the Creed star is also adding  another production credit to his resume and will serve as an executive producer on the film via his Outlier Productions company.   Jordan launched the company in 2016 and inked a multiyear first-look film and TV production deal with Skydance Media.

Fahrenheit 451 is still in early stages of development and a release date has yet to be announced.
