The Moonwalk is his most memorable and probably most replicated dance move. which Jackson introduced the world in 1983 on Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever, which honored the label, during a performance of “Billie Jean.” The ease with which Jackson performs proves that he was the best to ever do it.

His Performance at Super Bowl XXVI 

Jackson’s electrifying performance at Super Bowl XXVI  in Pasadena, California, in January 1993 is a perfect showcase of his star power. He took the stage, stood still for 90 seconds, while the entire Rose Bowl Stadium screamed in adoration for the King of Pop.

When a “Rusty” Jackson Danced for Oprah

When he sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a live interview at Neverland ranch in 1993, it was a monumental moment. It was the first time in 14 years that Jackson gave an interview and about 90 million viewers tuned in, according to BuzzFeed. The King of Pop opened up about his lack of a childhood, his battle with vitiligo and his father, Joe Jackson. However, when Jackson gets up to show the TV host a few dance moves, which he called “rusty,” it was further proof that at Jackson’s “worst” he’s better than everyone else.

Kissing Lisa Marie Presley at the MTV Video Music Awards

Jackson and his then-wife, Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis Presley, introduced the 1994 MTV Video Music Awards. The pair had gotten married earlier in the year in the Dominican Republic. Jackson, holding Presley’s hand, addressed the crowd saying, “And just think, nobody thought this would last,” before planting a huge kiss on his bride. The couple divorced two years later.

His Iconic Music Videos 

Jackson’s music videos are so iconic that MTV named its highest honor, the Video Vanguard Award, after the music legend. Jackson thrilled fans in the music video for “Thriller,” depicted Black people as Egyptian royalty in “Remember the Time” and teamed up with his sister Janet for “Scream,” which still holds the record for the most expensive video made.
