Former first lady Michelle Obama spoke out against “leaning in” on Saturday during a stop on her book tour, per HuffPost.

Obama was speaking in front of a crowd of 19,000 people in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday where she spoke candidly about the method coined by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg.

“That whole ‘so you can have it all.’ Nope, not at the same time. That’s a lie. And it’s not always enough to lean in, because that sh*t doesn’t work all the time,” she continued to the crowd that reacted with laughter seemingly because she cursed on stage. “I forgot where I was for a moment!” she said, according to Vanity Fair. “I thought we were at home, y’all. I was gettin’ real comfortable up in here.”

Sandberg’s philosophy was mentioned in her book Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead and believed that woman could have a family, career and happiness if they worked hard enough.

The Dec. 2018/Jan. 2019 Power 100 issue cover star is currently on a 10-city book tour for her memoir Becoming, which became the highest-selling book released this year.
