Michelle Obama made a surprise lunch visit to the Lower Eastside Girls Club of New York, a community center offering workshops and mentoring programs to girls in middle and high school, on Saturday.

During her stop, Obama helped prepare lunch for the 30 girls at the event and discussed the benefit of healthy eating habits, according to the New York Daily News.

Councilwoman Carlina Rivera shared a video of the stunning moment and thanked the former first lady for her graciousness.

“Thanks to for making our little corner of the Lower East Side brighter today,” Rivera captioned the clip. “I will never forget the girls’ reaction to seeing such an amazing role model in real life. The is a special place for our next generation of leaders!”

Obama gifted each young lady with a copy of her memoir, Becoming, which has sold approximately 2 million copies since its Nov. 13 release.
