First Lady Michelle Obama is scheduled to deliver the commencement address at North Carolina A&T. The White House announced yesterday that she is making it her issue to visit historically Black colleges and universities. For those keeping score, she already spoke at Spelman in 2011 and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 2010. With her and the President both staunch supporters of education, they recognize the important contributions HBCUs have made to American and world culture.
This year, Michelle’s commencement tour also includes visits to Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) and Oregon State University (OSU). Will the First Lady’s attempts at saluting our best and brightest help tip the scale in her husband’s favor in November?
