The Trend:  Abstract graphic print fabrics are everywhere this summer as this seasons "it" trend.  Not sure if you’re ready to step out in your patterned frock just yet?  Try this fun and simple DIY tribal patterned nail art to keep you on-trend and summer chic.  Check out the details below:

EBONY.com: What was the inspiration behind the design?

Laurie-Ann: It was inspired by bold prints, a current summer trend.  It's so much fun to classify manicures as accessories and polishes as essential staples of your wardrobe.

EBONY.com: How did you create the design?

Laurie-Ann:  I began by applying two coats of Brucci Nail Polish Colors in Mi Papi.  Next, I used a nail art brush to paint abstract peak shaped lines over the dried base color using OPI in Alpine Snow.  On top of the white peak shape, I created a smaller peak shape using LA Colors’ Hottie nail color.  I then completed the design using a Migi Nail Art Pen in Black to create soft strokes around the original peak shape.

EBONY.com: Do you have any DIY nail art advice to share?

Laurie-Ann:  If you take the time to dissect and figure out the steps in any nail art design, you'll realize how simple it can be to create stunning designs that seem complex and impossible! Plus, there isn't any one way to create a design; you can create your own version just by using your imagination!
