At just 23 years old, Naomi Osaka has accomplished more than many will in an entire lifetime. On top of being ranked number one by the Women’s Tennis Association, and a four-time Grand Slam champion, in addition to winning both the U.S. Open and the Australian Open, the Gen Z athlete now has her very own Barbie doll. Today, Mattel announced the release of the Naomi Osaka Barbie as part of the brand’s Role Model Series.

“It’s such an honor to be a part of the Barbie Role Model series, and to remind young girls that they can  make a difference in the world,” says Osaka in a press release obtained by EBONY. “I want young girls everywhere to feel empowered to dream big and to  know that if they believe in themselves that anything is possible!”

The doll wears attire inspired by a look Osaka wore during the 2020 Australian Open, which includes a Nike brushstroke print dress, white visor, and blue tennis shoes. She also comes with a Yonex tennis racket that resembles the one Osaka uses on the court.

“We are incredibly honored to spotlight Naomi Osaka as part of our Barbie Role Model series. She has  paved the way for future generations of girls to dream bigger, and through her unwavering courage and  honesty, shown the world the importance of being your own biggest champion,” says Lisa McKnight, SVP and Global Head of Barbie and Dolls at Mattel. “Naomi continues to  break boundaries on and off the court and is a powerful role model to fans everywhere.”
