Since her famous ’frohawk at the Screen Actors Guild Awards earlier this year, I’ve been keeping a close eye on up-and-coming actress Teyonah Parris. She embodies the culture of natural hair with her complex, intricate natural hairstyles. It isn’t often that we see rising stars embracing their natural attributes, and doing so with such style. Any day that Teyonah tweets, Facebooks, or Instagrams a picture of her hair is a good day for me.
The young actress has worn everything from box braids, Afros, side pinups with a curly twist, and a few styles we can’t even identify… they’re just fly. Natural ladies, if you haven’t followed Teyonah on any social media outlets for hair inspiration, you’re definitely missing out.
