In a landmark announcement, all six members of the legendary R&B group New Edition (Ronnie DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Ralph Tresvant, and Johnny Gill) have signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) who will now be their official representation, according to a statement released this week. Not only will CAA oversee the group’s music career, but also “touring, theatre, literature, TV/Film, production, and composing,” the statement read.

In addition, to representing all of the future endeavors of New Edition, CAA is planning a residency in Las Vegas and a national, 30 arena tour is in the works that the group will headline.

Since their seminal debut album Candy Girl was released in 1984, New Edition has been one of the most iconic and revered groups in R&B. New Edition has released more than six studio albums, including the self-titled New Edition, All For Love, Heartbreak, and Home Again that have reached platinum status. Garnering critical acclaim as innovators, New Edition has received a Grammy nomination, and multiple Soul Train and American Music Awards. In 2017, the history of the group was featured on BET in a  three-part biopic titled  The New Edition Story, that aired over three consecutive nights. That same year, the group was honored with the BET Lifetime Achievement Award, highlighting their remarkable accomplishments as architects of contemporary R&B.

Unlike any other group before them or after their arrival on the scene, New Edition has also spun off the successful solo careers of Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, Johnny Gill, and the trio Bell Biv Devoe.
