O.J. Simpson’s new lawyer, Patricia Palm, filed an appeal Tuesday of his 2008 conviction. The former NFL star and defendant in highly publicized 1995 murder acquittal was sentenced with nine to 33 years in prison for kidnapping and armed robbery, in his attempt to claim memorabilia and personal mementos stolen from him. Palm claims his lawyers at the time badly represented him in court and in his appeals.

The 94-page document filed in Clark County District Court in Las Vegas alleges attorneys Yale Galanter of Miami and Gabriel Grasso of Las Vegas did not do their best work and Simpson maintains his same ‘I was getting-what-was-mine’ defense. Out of the six people involved in the crime, 64-year-old Simpson is the only one still behind bars.
