Black Police Sergeant Sues Black Lives Matter

A Dallas-based police sergeant has filed a federal lawsuit against Black Lives Matter leaders and others, blaming the movement for race riots and violence against police.

The Dallas Morning News reports that Sgt. Demetrick Pennie, a 17-year law enforcement vet, filed the amended complaint in federal court Friday.

The defendants listed include those associated with the Black Lives Matter movement, as well as prominent public figures such as Rev. Al Sharpton, Louis Farrahkan, George Soros, the New Black Panther Party, presidential Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and even President Barack Obama.

It lawsuit alleges that defendants incite supporters and others “to engage in threats and attacks” against law enforcement officers around the country, including the July 7 murders of five Dallas officers by Micah Johnson after a Black Lives Matter demonstration.

It also claims the defendants “have repeatedly incited their supporters and others to engage in threats of and attacks to cause serious bodily injury or death upon police officers and other law enforcement persons of all races and ethnicities.”

In a release published to Breitbart, a conservative news site, Pennie said he was “bound” to “put an end to the incitement of violence against law enforcement.”

The 66-page complaint is seeking more than $500 in damages.
