Members of Black Lives Matter and its allies are calling for a #BlackLivesMatter-themed Presidential debate, according to a press release sent by the network.

The group is also urging Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz to allow for more debates among Democratic party candidates leading up to the 2016 election.

“It is not enough to poll the Presidential candidates on whether or not they think ‘Black lives matter’ or ‘All lives matter’ – we deserve substantive responses – including and in addition to criminal justice reform,” the statement said. “What will the presidential candidates do to ensure that Black lives matter?”

The network feels that limiting the number of debates “unfairly privileges some candidates over others, and cheats voters out of the opportunity to fully engage candidates on issues we care about.”

Black Lives Matter has created a petition. View it here and keep up with the push for more debates via the #RaisetheDebate and #BLMDebate hashtags.
