A Martha Vineyard bus driver has been let go from their job for declining to pick up a Black passenger, Boston’s NBC 10 reports.

A Black man was trying to flag down the bus driver Wednesday afternoon when he drove past him in Edgartown, The Martha’s Vineyard Transit Authority told NBC.

The gentleman was able to catch up to the bus and questioned the driver when he was allegedly told that he wasn’t picked up “because you are Black,” after challenging the driver’s claim that the bus was full, transit officials who reviewed the footage said to NBC.

The bus driver, whose identity remains a mystery, was fired on Thursday.
