CDC: New HIV Cases Can Be Reduced by 185,000 by 2020

Today, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new research showing that reaching specific targets of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy could prevent 185,000 new HIV infections in the U.S. by 2020.

The study credits the use of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), and aggressive treatment of those living with HIV for the projected prevention estimate.
