James Shaw Jr., 29, is being revered as a hero after disarming the Waffle House shooter in Nashville on Sunday (April 22). Now, Shaw is being rewarded by celebrities and civilians alike for his bravery.

According to TMZ, celebrities have contributed tons of money to a GoFundMe account started to reward the 29-year-old. The page was started by journalist Yashar Ali, who became inspired after Shaw not only saved many potential victims but also then launched a page to raise thousands of dollars for them.

Ali writes, “According to news reports, James has a four-year-old daughter. Perhaps this money can be used for her college fund or some other education-related expense. But I’d be just as happy if James used some of this money to take his family on a nice vacation.” Within the first 15 hours of Ali’s campaign, nearly $75,000 has been raised for Shaw.

Stars such as author Mike Cernovich and actors Jon Cryer, Busy Philipps and Kristin Davis have contributed to the fund.
