Civil Rights Adviser Appointed By Chicago Mayor

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced the appointment of veteran police commissioner Charles Ramsey as the city's civil rights adviser late Sunday.

Ramsey, a recently retired Philadelphia police commissioner, has been tapped to help reform Chicago's police force.

The department is currently being investigated by the Department of Justice for racial disparities and officers' use of force.

Ramsey's appointment comes two months after the release of a video showing the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald by a Chicago police officer.
