The NYPD officer who killed an unarmed Brooklyn man in a housing project staircase has been indicted for 2nd degree manslaughter, according to The New York Daily News.

Officer Peter Liang will face criminal charges that can send him to prison for up to 15 years. A 2nd degree manslaughter charge means that Liang acted recklessly. As Gurley lay dying, Liang reportedly called his union rep before contacting paramedics.
