Sen. Cory Booker shared his request for the Senate to allow a full FBI investigation into the sexual misconduct claims made by Dr. Christien Blasey Ford against Hon. Brett Kavanaugh, who is nominated for a position as a Supreme Court Justice.

Ford and Kavanaugh both testified before the committee on Thursday regarding the allegations. On Friday, Booker was one of the Democrats who walked out of the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the confirmation of Kavanaugh.

“We do not have to have this vote today,” Booker said before the vote. “We can correct from the mistakes of the past in this nation.”

Following his protest on the vote, Booker posted a note on Twitter explaining that he agreed with Sen. Jeff Flake’s request for an FBI investigation before the official vote. “Although the particular investigative steps were not discussed in detail, at a minimum, the FBI investigation should include investigating Dr. Ford’s credible allegations.”

He listed the measures that should be taken including interviewing all the witnesses Ford mentioned in her testimony, following up on entries in Kavanaugh’s calendars and other sexual misconduct claims brought against the judge.
