Remember back in November when the new face of ABC Dallas news, Demetria Obilor, was slandered by Facebook user Jan Shedd for “being a size 16/18 in a size 6 dress?” Jan even threatened to boycott the station and all. Well, although it’s always encourage that we spread love and not hate, Jan’s slander quickly went viral and poured in a wave of support for Obilor. Take that Jan! From celebs such as Chance the Rapper tweeting his support, to women against body shaming and men who are pro-curves, it was clear that Obilor aka #TrafficBae quickly became a social media sensation overnight.
Fast forward, and the hype has yet to die down for the ABC new-hire. The beautiful anchor was recently spotted ringing in the new year with some celebrity friends in Vegas, including the likes of rapper French Montana. She’s also been spotted on panels for ‘My Black is Beautiful,’ United Negro College Fund (UNCF) and many more. Oh, not to mention she is still thick, and still on TV, per her thriving career as a traffic ensemble reporter on ABC.
Sorry Jan! We guess the saying “There is no such thing as bad publicity,” is true!
How you gon’ hate from behind the TV screen when you can’t even get on! #Bloop!

Yesterday, I was kickin’ it with hundreds of Dallas-area high school students at the United Negro College Fund’s Empower Me Tour. I participated in the “My Black is Beautiful” panel, where I met so many bright young women and men! We had conversations about cultivating confidence, overcoming obstacles as a minority ✊🏽 and how life experiences have prepared us for our careers. Wishing all my girls & guys nothing but the best ♥️ @uncf
