A Domino’s pizza employee was fired from their job last week after a customer complained that a racial slur was written on the receipt instead of her name, the Associated Press reports.

Myasia Nelson, who’s Black, said she went into the pizza chain on Oct. 1 in Burlington, North Carolina and placed an order and noticed the n-word misspelled on the board where the orders appear and on her receipt.

“I looked up, and I pointed it out to my sister. She didn’t believe me at first because the whole picture went away to the Domino’s advertising screen,” Nelson told The Times News.com. “It popped back up. That is when I was in shock.

Nelson canceled her order after noticing the White employee laughing about the incident.

“Nobody seemed to say anything. I know his manager was talking to him and he was laughing about it at first,” said Nelson. “We canceled the whole order and left.”

Junior Snyder, district manager for the pizza chain, apologized to Nelson and said that it was a spelling mistake, per Times-News.

Trying to say it was a misspelling — I don’t know where he got that from,” she said. “… I am being told he didn’t know how to spell, and then I am being told that it was a misspelling and all these other excuses.”

“We did let the gentleman go, he no longer works for our company,” Snyder told CBS 17. “I apologized to them several times and all I can do is make sure it doesn’t happen again and train and make sure everyone understands we don’t tolerate this.”

Snyder offered Nelson a $50 gift card, which she refused. She said that she would never eat at Dominos again.

“My name is worth more than $50. I am not what he called me,” Nelson said.
