A CUNY doctoral student on the cusp of graduation died in Tuesday’s Amtrak wreck, the school said. Dr. Derrick Griffith, 42, was a dean of student affairs for City University of New York Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn. He was among five victims identified Wednesday.
Griffith had recently defended his dissertation in urban education. He was to graduate at the end of the month.
