On Saturday, former heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson took to Twitter to let his 2.8 million followers know just how much he cares about the downtrodden. "I am very proud to launch @MikeTysonCares Foundation. I want my legacy to be about charity and helping children. This is my start," the Brooklyn pugilist tweeted. Earning rave reviews around the globe, the non-profit organization's newly debuted Twitter page grossed almost 2,000 followers in less than 24 hours.

The mission of the Mike Tyson Cares Foundation is to "give kids a fighting chance" by providing innovative centers that provide for the all-around comprehensive needs of kids from broken homes. These needs may include healthcare assistance, shelter, school assistance, mentoring, job placement assistance, and such other needs as determined by the center for the overall well-being of the child. The Mike Tyson Cares Foundation also promotes offering financial support and/or services to other charitable organizations that emulate in hopes of furthering the all-around mission of the Mike Tyson Cares Foundation.

Hopefully, this idea moves past the idea phase and is able to complete its ambitious mission.
