FBI agents raided the home of President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager last month, Reuters reports.

The agents seized documents and other material from Paul Manafort’s Virginia-based residence as part of a special counsel’s probe into allegations that Russia meddled in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

Jason Maloni, a spokesman for Manafort, confirmed the raid on Wednesday. It was conducted in Alexandria, VA, without any advanced warning on July 26, just one day after Manafort met with staff members of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

“FBI agents executed a search warrant at one of Mr. Manafort’s residences. Mr. Manafort has consistently cooperated with law enforcement and other serious inquiries and did so on this occasion as well,” Maloni said in an emailed statement.

According to reports, the search warrant was wide-ranging and FBI agents exited the home with a variety of records. The FBI did not return Reuters’ request for comment and a spokesman for special counsel Robert Mueller, who worked with the bureau, declined to comment.
