Tomorrow, Saturday, December 13, social justice activists, civil rights groups and citizens of good conscience will gather in solidarity to protest police brutality and racial profiling. Led by the National Action Network and Rev. Al Sharpton, several other national organizations will also be in support. Also in attendance will be the families of police slain Michael Brown, Eric Garner and Tamir Rice.
“We stand in solidarity with social justice activists from all over the country who call for an end to racial profiling and police brutality,” states NAACP President & CEO, Cornell William Brooks. “This march is one of many demonstrations to show Congress, the country and the world that we will not stand down until systemic change, accountability and justice in cases of police misconduct are served for Michael Brown, Eric Garner and the countless other men and women who lost their lives to police abuses of authority.”
The rally begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Freedom Plaza and participants will begin marching at Noon to the Capitol.
