Kanye West has reportedly stepped up to help California fight back against the wildfires ravishing the Western state in a major way.

According to TMZ, the producer made a generous donation of $500,000 toward relief efforts for the courageous firefighters and the many lives and homes lost in the vicious fires. More than 240,000 people were displaced from parts of Northern and Southern California.

Kanye’s wife, Kim Kardashian West, is scheduled to make the announcement on Wednesday as a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

This will not be the couple’s first time aiding in efforts to minimize the damage the wildfires cause. Earlier this month, the West family reportedly hired private firefighters to save their $50 million Hidden Hills home from the Woolsey fire. The nearby residents thanked them for essentially saving the entire neighborhood.

After coming up with the plan to make a financial donation, Kanye reportedly used Adidas and his own clothing brand, Yeezy, which is valued at $1.5 billion, to raise the half a million dollars.

Kim will present a $200,000 check to the California Fire Foundation and another check for the same amount to the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund.

Kim and DeGeneres also presented firefighter Michael Williams and his wife, Lisa, who lost their own home in the Southern California fire with a check for $100,000 to rebuild.

On Wednesday’s episode, the Williams couple explained how they evacuated their home and helped to save the neighborhood.

“We went around the corner, and I saw one of my local friends on an engine,” Mr. Williams said.

“I pulled over to the side, and I said, ‘Ryan can you go out my house it’s on fire. If you don’t take care of that house my whole block is going to blow away,” he continued holding back tears.

After the firefighter was done recounting the story, Kim surprised the couple with the check.
