When Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Ca.) speaks, almost every Black person who respects their elders, has a love for aunties or simply appreciates a mouthpiece for their abhorrence for President Donald Trump, listens.

In July, Waters—who has been highly vocal about her disdain for Trump—led an audience at Los Angeles’ California African American Museum in chanting “Impeach 45.”

At the Congressional Black Caucus Town Hall on Civil Rights in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, the seasoned congresswoman communicated she’d rather have people joining her movement to “impeach 45” than applauding her for it. And she reminded everyone exactly why the growth of her campaign is necessary.

“Here you have a president who lies every day,” Waters said after discussing alleged Trump’s involvement with the Russians’ tampering of the 2016 election. “Thank God that the special counsel is beginning to connect the dots—and understand Facebook’s role in it and social media’s role in it. When is the Black community going to say, ‘Impeach him’? It’s time to go after him. I don’t hear you!”

“Don’t another person come up to me and say, ‘You go, girl.’ No, you go!” she continued.

And she made it clear Trump’s impeachment doesn’t have to be a far-fetched attempt.

“Impeachment is about whatever the Congress says it is,” she said. “There is no law that dictates impeachment. What the Constitution says is ‘high crimes and misdemeanors,’ and we define that.”

She also told her skinfolk not to fear being accused of militancy or pulling the “race card.”

“Black people, you better get controversial,” the outspoken 79-year-old said. “You better be controversial. You had better call it like it is. When they said to us about 10, 15 years ago, ‘Oh, she’s playing the race card. . . . you should say, “Yeah, and I’ve got a lot more I’m going to play,” she said. “Don’t run away from it. That’s what happens.”

“I want to tell you, it is time to take off the handcuffs. It’s time to get in it. It’s time to call it like it is.”

Welp, y’all heard the lady. Cuffs off.
