Today, Monday, July 30, marks the last day that Floridians can register to vote and pick a political party for next month’s primary election, according to My News 13.

Over 12 million people have already registered to vote in the primary election that will be held Aug. 28.

Florida is a closed primary state, which means that only people registered with a specific political party can vote in their party’s races.

According to My News 13, a few of the top positions in the state such as governor, agriculture commissioner and attorney general will be left for voters to decide because of term limits.

Florida residents can check their voter registration status by clicking here and either register to vote or update their voter information here.
