One of two Minneapolis police officers involved in the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Jamar Clark had a federal lawsuit filed against him four years ago.
Dustin Schwarze, then serving as a police officer in Richfield, allegedly deployed a Taser on the passenger of a vehicle pulled over by officers in the early morning hours of Dec. 11, 2011.
The lawsuit also accuses Schwarze of threatening to beat the alleged victim Nataniel Hanson, and a second passenger if they exited the vehicle.
Action on the lawsuit began in Hennepin County roughly 10 days before Clark was shot to death in north Minneapolis, according to U.S. District Court documents.
