UPDATE:

The 12-year-old who was reported missing on Thursday has made contact with her family and told them she was safe, but “not coming home,” according to the New York City Police Department.

The Washington County’s sheriff’s office also identified one of the men in custody as 19-year-old George Torres, who charged with child endangerment in the case.

Officials said that Torres and Malaya met online, where she told him she was 18-years old. He told police that once he found out her age, he left and that they did not have sexual contact, CBS 2 reports. 

Law enforcement officials said they have two people in custody and are looking for a missing 12-year-old girl in New York, CBS 2 reports.

Malaya Johnson was abducted in Hudson Falls, New York on Wednesday, according to the Washington County sheriff’s office. An Amber Alert was issued on Thursday.

Police said that Malaya was last seen by New York City’s Staten Island Ferry Terminal and was taken “under circumstances that lead police to believe that she is in imminent danger of serious physical injury or death.”

Two men were taken into custody after officers found a red Ford Mustang that they were searching for, according to CBS 2.

Per the report:

Johnson has long brown hair and brown eyes, and she’s about five feet tall and weighs approximately 115 pounds. She was seen wearing light red jeans, a white tank top and light colored backpack when she disappeared.
