President Donald Trump’s gross and callous negligence towards Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria reached new heights on Tuesday when he threw paper towels into an audience of hurricane victims and reporters.

Tuesday marked Trump’s first visit to the island since the Sep. 21 hurricane that left millions of Puerto Ricans without electricity, water, food and other necessities. During his five-hour visit, the president stopped at a San Juan chapel being used as a shelter for Hurricane Maria victims.

During Trump’s time at the Calvary Chapel, he helped distribute food to the room then proceeded to throw rolls of paper towels into the audience.

During his short trip, the president remarked the death toll of 16 does not reflect that of a “real catastrophe” like Hurricane Katrina, which struck New Orleans in 2005.

Despite the shockingly limited amount of federal aid that’s been provided to the island, Trump also told the crowd:

“I hate to tell you, Puerto Rico, but you’ve thrown our budget a little out of whack.”
