President Barack Obama is visiting in Flint, Michigan, a city devastated by contaminated water in recent months. He was greeted by Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, who has been heavily criticized for his administration’s handling of the crisis.

Flint Mayor Karen Weaver also met the president at the airport.

Obama’s first order of business will be to receive a briefing on the federal response to the crisis. He then will meet with city residents. Obama declared a state of emergency in mid-January and ordered federal aid to supplement the state and local response. At that point, the crisis was in full bloom.
