In a recording tweeted out on Monday by independent journalist, Justin Glawe, a man who may be a police officer is heard describing African Americans as “typical f*cking n*ggers” through a police scanner, prompting another officer and the dispatcher to express shock, disgust and then attempt to track down who uttered the racist remark.

“Find out what comment that radio came from,” a male voice urges the female dispatcher who replies: “We don’t give radio numbers, but I’m already hollering for my supervisor.” There also appears to be a disparaging comment about Black Lives Matter. Listen if you dare.
“This morning, CPD was made aware of inappropriate transmission on a police frequency,” the Chicago Police Department’s Office of News Affairs said in a statement sent to EBONY.com. “The statements made are absolutely unacceptable and Superintendent Escalante has ordered an immediate internal affairs investigation into this incident. Should the investigation reveal that a member of the Police Department made the statements, he will be immediately suspended and disciplinary proceedings will be launched.”
For the sake of our community’s already shaken faith in the police, we’re going to pray this was a hack.
