The acting head of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Andrew Wheeler, is alleged to have liked racist memes about the Obamas on Facebook and retweeted conspiracy theories on Twitter, according to HuffPost.

Democratic political action committee American Bridge 21st Century discovered that Wheeler had reportedly engaged with the offensive content for the last five years.

One 2013 post from the Facebook page “Mia mamma è vergine,” which according to Newsweek is Italian for “My mom is a virgin,” showed that Wheeler allegedly liked a picture of former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama looking at someone holding a banana.

He also reportedly liked a picture that spread the debunked “Pizzagate” conspiracy theory, which alleged that Hillary Clinton and other Democrats were involved with a child sex ring linked to a pizza restaurant in D.C., per Newsweek.

Over the years, I have been a prolific social media user and liked and inadvertently liked countless social media posts,” Wheeler told HuffPost. “Specifically, I do not remember the post depicting President Obama and the First Lady. As for some of the other posts, I agreed with the content and was unaware of the sources.”

Wheeler replaced Scott Pruitt in July after numerous scandals and misconduct allegations.
