There have been some strange ads leading up to the 2012 election season, but we’ve never seen anything quite like this.

Mark Oxner, a Republican congressional candidate from Florida, released a 39-second spot this week satirizing the Obama administration as a slave ship. The clip begins with several men and women aboard a boat, which is called “The U.S.S. Obamaship,” and celebrating the perks of receiving various benefits, bailouts, and “free health care for life.”

At about the 15-second mark, a caricature of President Barack Obama is seen steering the ship, commanding its patrons to ask “no questions while on this ship.” Oxner clearly doesn’t have any platforms or benchmarks he wants to help enact in his district; instead he chooses to portray little children as slaves rowing the boat while a man holding a whip watches closely.

With this being the first of multiple ads being released as Mark Oxner vies for Florida’s 27th District—how high does this rank on the disturb-o-meter? Should we be waiting for the would-be Florida rep to “giveth-us-free” in his next commercial?
