A Chicago police officer will face no charges in the shooting death of a 25-year-old Black man who died in 2014.

On Monday, officials released video footage of Officer George Hernandez fatally shooting Ronald Johnson in Oct. 2014. Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez, said her office won’t press criminal charges “because the crime cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Police say they were answering a report of shots fired on the city’s South Side when they came upon Johnson on Oct. 12, 2014. They say he ran when they approached him, and pointed a gun in the direction of officers.
