The White man who called a Black woman an “ugly Black bastard” on a Ryanair flight this month apologized and said he is not racist.

In the viral video clip that’s garnered millions of views, David Mesher, 75, can be seen yelling at Delsie Gayle because she was sitting in the same row as he was on the flight to London.

“I’m not a racist person by any means, and it’s just a fit of temper at the time, I think,” he told ITV’s Good Morning Britain. “I apologize for all the distress you’ve had there and since.”

Mesher, who was not removed from the flight, was reported to the police following the incident in which he berated the woman for speaking another language.

“Don’t talk to me in a foreign language, you stupid, ugly cow,” he yelled. “If you don’t go to another seat, I’ll put you in another seat.”

Gayle, 77, told the Daily Mail that she has not accepted Mesher’s apology.

‘I don’t think so. You must forget and forgive but it’s going to take a long time for me to get over what he has done to me,” she said.

Gayle, who was escorted onto the plane with a wheelchair due to her arthritis and a double knee replacement, said she has not heard anything from Ryanair.

Her daughter, Carol Gayle, 53, told the Daily Mail that she has to keep reassuring her mother that the incident wasn’t her fault.

“She didn’t leave the house for five days,’ she said. “I haven’t seen her smile. I keep telling her it wasn’t her fault.”
