The European airline Ryanair is facing criticism after flight staff didn’t remove a White passenger after he made racist comments toward a Black woman.

U.K. resident, David Lawrence, filmed the video on Thursday showing the man screaming at an elderly Black woman saying that he did not want to sit next to her, and threatened to push her to another seat, per HuffPost.

The man can also be heard calling the woman an “ugly Black bastard” on the flight from Barcelona, Spain to London.

“Don’t talk to me in a foreign language, you stupid ugly cow!” said the unidentified man. “I’ll tell you this,” the man told her. “If you don’t go to another seat, I’ll put you into another seat.”

Another woman, who’s reportedly the older lady’s daughter, confronted the man yelling at him not to shout at her and to “give her a chance!”

“When you watch the footage, you’ll see it starts to unfold where this man starts a torrent of abuse, absolutely disgusting, despicable words thrown at this elderly black woman,” Lawrence told CNN.

Members of the British and Scottish Parliaments called out Ryanair for not removing the man from the flight for his racist tirade.

“He should have been removed from the flight and handed over to the police,” tweeted MP Karl Turner. “We assume the aircraft was in the U.K. If it was, he definitely committed criminal offenses.”

“Essex Police takes prejudice-based crime seriously and we want all incidents to be reported. We are working closely with Ryanair and the Spanish authorities on the investigation. We would encourage anyone with information to contact us,” said law enforcement officials around London Stansted airport, where the flight landed.
