Wait a mickey fickey minute.

Did the LA Times seriously post a poll comparing our beautiful, powerful and amazingly athletic Empress of #BlackGirlMagic, Serena Williams, to a horse?

**scrolls up and down Twitter**

Um, yes, they damn did.

It appears that some folk were angry that Williams, a human being, was named Sports Illustrated “Sportsperson of the Year” over prize-winning horse, American Pharoah.  Said folk might want to revisit what they learned in biology, as that is a different matter and proof that our schools are failing us.

While the Times may not have created this…um…topic, they certainly did not help matters with two acts.

(1) They included this sentence in the article. "To be fair, American Pharoah is not just any horse. He is horse racing's first Triple Crown winner in 37 years. And he won the magazine's readers' poll for the award."

(2) They had the nerve to create an actual factual poll with Williams on the left and the horse on the right as if this was a legit thing that should be discussed.

A moment of silence for the person who “innovated” this idea.  I await the impending apology. What whomever is tasked with explaining this better NOT do is try to blame Future, or any other rapper who has (admiringly) compared womankind to “stallions.”  Future will not take the fall for this fail, not on my watch.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming.  This message has been brought to you by Social Skills, my ongoing attempt to make sense of social media madness.  As you were.
