A White South Carolina woman tried to convince police that she should not be arrested for speeding and driving under the influence because she’s a “very clean, thoroughbred, white girl,” according to The New York Post reports.
Lauren Elizabeth Cutshaw was pulled over by Bluffton police for speeding past a stop sign at 60 mph on Saturday where officers also found her with marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Cutshaw told police that she only had two glasses of wine because she was out “celebrating” her birthday, according to the New York Post.
On top of telling police that she was a “white, clean girl,” the 32-year-old also told officers that she should not be taken to jail because she was a cheerleader, member of a sorority, had perfect grades in college and that her partner was a cop, according to a police report obtained by The Island Packet.
“Making statements such as these as a means to justify not being arrested are unusual in my experience as a law enforcement officer and I believe further demonstrate the suspect’s level of intoxication,” cops wrote in the report, according to The Island Packet.
She was reportedly slurring her words, had bloodshot eyes and failed a field sobriety test due to having a 0.18 blood alcohol level, which is more than twice South Carolina’s legal limit.
