President Donald Trump accidentally referred to the U.S. Virgin Islands’ governor as president during a speech Friday, CNN reports.
Whoops!
It seems as if everyone but the commander in chief remembers that he’s actually the president of the island.
“We are one nation and we all hurt together, we hope together and we heal together,” he said during the Values Voter Summit in Washington. “The Virgin Islands and the president of the Virgin Islands, these are people that are incredible people, they suffered gravely and we’ll be there, we’re going to be there, we have really, it is not even a question of a choice.”
Trump seemed to be referring to Kenneth Mapp, the governor of the Virgin Islands, a U.S. territory, instead of the “president,” who is Trump himself.
At the time, Trump was referring to the current state of the Virgin Islands following hits by both hurricanes Irma and Maria, which devastated the tropical island.
Oh, brother.
